What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?

Recognition of Prior Learning is a scheme that recognizes your prior/existing knowledge and experience in any area, by evaluating your knowledge and giving a certificate regarding the same. Traditionally, you study for certain duration before becoming eligible to appear in the exam and get a certificate. But in case of Recognition of Prior Learning programs, no teaching is involved-You are directly eligible to take test and get certificate if you successfully complete the test.

What is NIREM’s RPL Program?

NIREM offers Recognition of Prior Learning programs for those professionals who already have knowledge and experience in Real Estate, Construction or Housing Finance industry but do not have a certificate. Such professionals can take a test based on their prior experience and get a certificate in their area of specialization without going through any further classroom or online teaching process. The questions are asked based on the practical experience in the area. A Certificate not only enhances career opportunities but established professional credibility also.

Who can obtain a NIREM RPL Certificate?

Anyone who has prior knowledge and experience can clear the test. For example, you should have knowledge and experience in leasing to clear a test and obtain a Certificate in Leasing. Similarly you should have knowledge and experience in real estate marketing to clear a test and get a Certificate in Real Estate Marketing.

What types of questions are asked in the test?

Multiple Choice Questions are asked in the test. These questions cover the syllabus which is available on the individual course page that can be accessed through www.nirem.org/RPL . It is expected that anyone who has fair amount of practical experience in his professional area would comfortably answer these questions.

How many questions are asked?

60 Multiple Choice Questions are asked for a total marks of 60.

Is there any time limit?

The duration of the test is 75 Minutes.

What is the pass marks to get the certificate?

In order to successfully complete the test, you should obtain atleast 40% marks.

Is there any negative marking in the test?

There is no negative marketing.

After taking test, how can I get the certificate?
